Eiffel Tower Shut Down After Suspected Terrorist Seen Climbing It
The tower, which is one of the important attractions in France has been closed to visitors amid security alert.
It has been reported that a suspect was seen climbing the tower with a rucksack.
The anti-terrorist police squad was rushed to the iconic landmark in Paris backed by air support for carrying out search operation for the suspect.
The area was evacuated while anti-terror police carried out a search.
It is to be mentioned here that the Eiffel Tower receives as many as 30,000 daily visitors.
Sources said that it has been the target of plots by Islamist extremists .
