Pakistanis burning Adnan Sami effigies

Hyderabad, August 8: Pakistani singer Adnan Sami is feeling both happy and sad at the same time.

He is happy for getting permission of the Indian government to stay for an indefinite period in India. Sad because of the growing Pakistani public anger against him. The Pak people were burning his effigies also.

Adnan gets his visa extended from time to time. His Pakistani passport, issued on May 27, 2010, had expired on May 26, 2015. The Pakistani government denied to renew his passport. With this, he requested the Indian government to legalise his stay in India.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju declared the government's green signal for Adnan's request. Later, he renounced his Pakistani citizenship and declared India as his home country, in which he has been staying since 14 years.

This angered the Pak people and burning Adnan's effigies.
